Leo D. Martinez was born in Harlem, NY and is now based in Atlanta, GA. She received her B.A. in English from Williams College. Her creative writings explore the intersections, disconnections, and parallels of gender fluidity, nationalism, race, and Afro-syncretic spiritualities by centering queer Afro-Caribbean people in honor of the literary elders and ancestors who showed her that we can faithfully witness the past and imagine different futures. Currently, she is on a pilgrimage of connecting with herself, her spiritual guides, and the queer and trans community across the Black diaspora.
